Local Attractions
Lincoln County has something for everyone. Hunting
and fishing opportunities abound along with splendid opportunities to see and interact
with wildlife. Try invigorating wintertime sports such as downhill skiing,
snowshoeing, cutter racing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing just to name a
few. Summers offer white water rafting, hiking, biking, and camping.
With moose that hang out at the golf course, and
deer that feast on lawn grass and rose bushes, any time of the year is perfect
for wildlife viewing.
Fossil Hunting is a great summertime day activity for the kids and adults
alike. Schedule a day trip with one of the local businesses
specializing in digging fossils. Spend the day "Fishing The
Layers Of Time" for 50,000,000 year old fossil fish, turtles, plants and many other ancient
wonders. Keep the fossils you find and amaze your friends back home.
It's easy and fun, be sure to bring plenty of water though, it can be hot and dry on the
fossil beds.
